Born in Gurugram, Haryana on 27^th August, 1967, Justice Renu Bhatnagar graduated from M.D.U. Rohtak, Haryana in 1986 and chose to pursue Law as a profession. She completed her L.L.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi and L.L.M. from Kurukshetra University. 

Justice Bhatnagar joined the Delhi Judicial Service in 1992 and was promoted to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in August, 2003. She was promoted as Principal District Judge and posted as such at South-East District, Saket Courts, Delhi from May, 2023 to June, 2023 and thereafter at Shahdara District, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi from 8^th June, 2023 to 20^th February, 2025.

During her long service tenure, she presided over courts dealing with Civil and Criminal Jurisdictions. She held designated courts dealing in Labour and Industrial Laws & Matrimonial disputes, Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), TADA, POTA and MCOCA, apart from regular Sessions Court and District Court.  Justice Bhatnagar is a trained judicial mediator. 

Justice Bhatnagar was elevated as permanent Judge of the High Court of Delhi on 21^st February, 2025 marking a significant milestone in her distinguished career in the judiciary.
